5 More Ways To Stop Night Eating

Read my first night eating article here.

1. Go to sleep with your mind at peace. That means clear any negative thoughts, feelings or worries with EFT before you go to bed. Don’t hang onto resentments or go to bed mad or worried. Do gratitude tapping every night to focus on the positive.

2. Eat enough during the day. And take time to eat properly, mindfully, so that it registers as a meal in your body. If you rush through your meal or just grab snacks throughout the day while you are doing other things, you won’t feel as if you’ve eaten at all.

3. If you need to eat something at night after dinner, choose something hot. Hot foods are more satisfying and soothing at the same time – hot tea, soup, etc. Try to stick with foods that are easy to digest. That makes it easier to sleep and easier to get back to sleep without night eating if you wake up.

4. If you wake up at night, don’t worry about getting back to sleep. Your body is in charge of that! And it knows exactly what to do. Waking up during the night is normal, and you can’t expect to fall back asleep instantly. You will drift back to sleep naturally if you turn this task over to your body. Affirm to yourself “my body knows what to do . . . ”

5. Don’t eat in bed, or in any other room besides the kitchen! That way, you won’t get cues to eat as you move about your home. If you get up at night with the urge to eat, drink some water or make some hot tea, then go right back to bed. Tell yourself you can eat in the morning, if that helps to avoid night eating.

Night eating can be a huge problem, my daughter was having problems sleeping and would regularly snack in the middle of the night. Luckily she stopped when she finished her exams.
